Gold Hill
Off Grid and High in the Sky!
@ 9200’ in the mountains outside of Boulder there is no power. Passive solar strategies define this building. Abundant southern glazing provide an initial heat source for the thermal mass polished concrete floors. Photo Voltaic panels and solar thermal panels provide the energy to light and heat and cool this home.
Taking inspiration from the existing rock formations on site, this home nestles into the hillside creating a discrete oasis high above Boulder for the family to grow and embrace their mountain roots.
